Imagery is a small version of Image. It draws on a visual theme of classic Renaissance art, the triangle. In Renaissance paintings, as well as in this sculpture, the triangle is meant to represent the Holy Trinity- a union of the father, son and holy spirit. I have utilized mirrors so that the viewer may see themselves from different angles, echoing the idea that “we are made in God’s image.” Viewers are invited to consider their own origins, as the red fluid evokes blood, the human body, and the sacrament. Red beans meant to represent the seeds of life.
